alchemist
Alchemist is an ongoing series of compositions experimenting with the notion of slow movement. The movement is so slow, the human eye cannot detect it, just like a timepiece. The intention is to explore empathy displayed by objects towards the viewer, as humans are never static.
The sculpture’s is a selection of simple objects changing their positions continually through the course of a day. Just like peripheral timekeeping in our ever-evolving surroundings, this wandering constellation explores its own relation to its space. It aims to assimilate the passing of time experienced by the constant slight changes in our environment.
Each carefully grafted component of the piece homes a light source, perpetually modifying and heightening the sculpture’s relationship in its surrounding. The alchemist is an enchanter, altering and transforming the relationship with the viewer. The ever-explored relationship between light and time relates to the change of seasons, tides, weather and our inner senses.

REFLECTION THE PASSAGE OF TIME
This emotive sculpture mimics our intuitive ability to understand time by noticing visual changes around us. By re-aligning the sensual impressions for the viewer, this attentively animated sculpture reflects an inner trajectory. The subtle movements create a new perspective for the viewer every time the piece is revisited. It aims to evoke an equal measure of emotions like assimilation and empathy, but also surprise and questioning.
